The Story Behind the Lot
Wu Zixu crosses Zhao Pass
Wu Zixu was born into a loyal and upright family of Chu. After King Ping of Chu unjustly had his father and elder brother executed, wiping out his entire family, Wu Zixu alone escaped and vowed revenge. He fled to Zhaoguan, on the border between Wu and Chu, where soldiers guarded every pass and escape seemed impossible. His anxiety was so intense that his hair turned white overnight. With help from a wise benefactor, he disguised himself and finally made it through the perilous checkpoint. After enduring countless dangers, he escaped to safety, later found success in Wu, and avenged his family. In this oracle, the story signifies that even when surrounded by obstacles and calamities, perseverance and the timely, unseen help of a benefactor can see you through. You will weather the crisis, escape danger safely, and resolve your difficulties. This is an auspicious sign of upper-middle fortune.
