2027, Year of the Goat · Annual Destiny Book
In the Chinese lunar calendar, 2027 is the Ding-Wei (丁未) year, the Year of the Goat. In Ziwei Doushu (紫微斗數, Zi Wei Dou Shu, or Purple Star Astrology), everyone’s annual Life Palace falls in the Wei (未) position this year, but which of your palaces sits at Wei, and which stars it holds, differs from chart to chart. So do the palaces that receive the Ding year’s Lu, Quan, Ke and Ji transformations. That is why no zodiac table can tell you how 2027 will go for you. The Annual Destiny Book casts your Ziwei Doushu chart from your date and hour of birth, reads your natal chart, your current decade cycle and the 2027 annual chart together, and writes a book about your year alone, 2,000–3,000 characters long in the Chinese edition.

2027, the Ding-Wei Year: Start with the Year Itself
The heavenly stem of the Ding-Wei year is Ding (丁), whose element is fire; its earthly branch is Wei (未), whose element is earth; and its zodiac animal is the Goat (羊, also translated as Sheep). Hence 2027’s popular English name, the Year of the Fire Goat. The year can be counted in 2 ways. By the solar terms, the Ding-Wei year runs from Lichun (立春, Beginning of Spring) on 4 February 2027 to Lichun on 4 February 2028. By the lunar calendar, Lunar New Year’s Day, the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, falls on 6 February 2027, and Lunar New Year’s Eve on 25 January 2028. They differ by 2 days at the start of the year and by about 9 days at the end; the Annual Destiny Book covers the course of the whole Ding-Wei year without going month by month.
Ding-Year Four Transformations: Moon Hua Lu, Heavenly Same Hua Quan, Heavenly Mystery Hua Ke, Great Gate Hua Ji
In Ziwei Doushu, the heavenly stem of each year sets off four transformations, each carried by one star: Hua Lu (化祿, flow), Hua Quan (化權, authority), Hua Ke (化科, recognition) and Hua Ji (化忌, obstruction). In a Ding year the Four Transformations are:
- Hua Lu (化祿)Moon Star (太陰 Tài Yīn)
The Moon Star governs savings, home and the inner emotional life. Whichever palace its Hua Lu lands in, that area of life tends to see accumulation, harmony and gains.
- Hua Quan (化權)Heavenly Same Star (天同 Tiān Tóng)
Heavenly Same governs good fortune, state of mind and enjoyment. Hua Quan turns that good fortune into initiative: in the affairs of the palace it lands in, you are more inclined to take charge yourself.
- Hua Ke (化科)Heavenly Mystery Star (天機 Tiān Jī)
Heavenly Mystery governs thinking, planning and change. Hua Ke favours study and planning, and also your reputation and help from guìrén (貴人), the people who open doors for you.
- Hua Ji (化忌)Great Gate Star (巨門 Jù Mén)
Great Gate governs speech and communication, and with them gossip and disputes. Whichever palace its Hua Ji lands in, that area of life calls for extra care with arguments, misunderstandings and things that are hard to clear up.
Which palaces these four stars land in depends on your own chart. Take Great Gate Hua Ji: traditionally, in the Career Palace it tends to show up as arguments at work, while in the Spouse Palace it tends to show up in communication with your partner. Another school derives the Four Transformations from the heavenly stem of the annual Life Palace instead, which gives different results. The book follows the method chosen in your app settings; the system calculates which palace each star lands in, and only then does the AI write the book.
What’s in the Book
An Annual Destiny Book has five chapters, 2,000–3,000 characters in the Chinese edition. It gives the conclusion first and then the reasoning, covers the good and the bad alike, and explains each term as it comes up.
1. Overview of 2027
The main theme of the year, and where it stands within your current decade cycle (大限 dàxiàn, the ten-year period you are in): a year of opportunity, a turning point, a year of pressure, or a year of adjustment.
2. How this year’s Four Transformations move
Which palaces of your annual chart receive this year’s Four Transformations (by default, the Ding year’s Moon Hua Lu, Heavenly Same Hua Quan, Heavenly Mystery Hua Ke and Great Gate Hua Ji); where they overlap with and set off your decade-cycle and birth-year transformations; what changes that brings, and why.
3. The year, area by area
Written area by area for your age this year (see the table below). For each area: where things go smoothly, where they get hard, and what to do.
4. The biggest opportunity and the biggest pressure
What each one is, where it comes from, and how to seize it or defuse it. The hard parts are spelled out in full, together with ways to handle them.
5. The year in summary
The year summed up in one sentence, then the one or two things that matter most.
Written for Your Age in 2027, Not from One Template
A teenage student and an elder in their sixties need completely different things from an annual reading. The book places you in one of four bands by your nominal age (xūsuì, counted by birth year) in 2027, and the areas covered in Chapter 3 change with it:
Studies, personality and emotions, physical health and daily routine, family and relationships (parents, classmates, friends). Career, money, romance and marriage are left out.
Studies or job hunting, income and spending, love life, relationships and the people who open doors for you, physical and mental wellbeing. No talk of investing or money management, and no pressure to get married.
Career, money, love and marriage, family (parents and children), physical and mental wellbeing.
Physical and mental wellbeing, family and children, protecting what you have financially, daily life and peace of mind. Nothing about career sprints or expanding investments.
Here, nominal age counts from your birth year in the Gregorian calendar: 2027 minus your birth year, plus one.
How the Book Is Written
The book mainly follows the Huashan Qintian Four Transformations school (華山欽天四化) of Ziwei Doushu, in which the outcome of any year depends on the decade cycle it falls in. It first looks at how the Life, Wealth, Career, Property, Health and other palaces fare within your current decade cycle, then at where 2027 lands and what it sets in motion. The natal, decade and annual charts are read as three layers, and where the year’s Four Transformations meet the birth-year transformations or a self-transformation (自化), the book pins down which area of life is being set off.
The chart and the palace of each transformation are calculated by our system from your birth details, then handed to an AI that writes the book to a fixed brief. The AI does not cast the chart itself and does not switch transformation methods. The book covers the trend of the whole year and does not single out specific months.
The book keeps to a few ground rules. On health, it only discusses routine, stress and physical and mental wellbeing; it does not diagnose illness or predict lifespan. On money, it guarantees no returns and gives no buy or sell instructions. On big decisions such as marrying or leaving a job, it offers suggestions and leaves the decision to you. And since it does not know whether you have a partner, it never assumes you are married or single.

Is the 2027 Annual Destiny Book really free?
Every account can claim one full 2027 Annual Destiny Book for free. It is not a preview, and you do not have to top up first. You only need credits later, to get more books for family and friends.
Can I claim it if I don’t know my birth hour?
Yes. Choose “Unknown” for the hour and the chart is estimated for the Wu hour (around noon); the book opens with a reminder that if the hour is off, some details may not match, and your real circumstances are what count. In Ziwei Doushu the Life Palace is set by your birth month and hour, so the more accurate the hour, the more closely the book fits you.
I only know my lunar birthday. What should I do?
The claim form only accepts Gregorian (solar) dates. If you only know your lunar birthday, first convert it to a Gregorian date with a perpetual calendar, then enter that.
How is it different from a Chinese zodiac horoscope?
Chinese zodiac horoscopes sort everyone into twelve groups by birth year, and everyone with the same animal sign reads the same text. The Annual Destiny Book casts a full chart from your year, month, day and hour of birth and looks at which of your own palaces this year’s Four Transformations fall in and how far your current decade cycle has run, so two people with the same animal sign can read completely different books.
When does the 2027 Ding-Wei year begin?
It can be counted in 2 ways. By the solar terms, it begins at Lichun (Beginning of Spring) on 4 February 2027; by the lunar calendar, it begins on Lunar New Year’s Day, the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, which is 6 February 2027. The book covers the course of the whole Ding-Wei year and does not go month by month.
What language is the book written in?
It follows the interface language you are using when you claim it: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese or Korean. In languages other than Chinese, terms such as star and palace names keep their original Chinese names, followed by a short explanation, so you can match them against your chart.
Is the book accurate? Can I make decisions based on it?
The book is a reading of your year according to traditional Ziwei Doushu, meant to help you understand yourself and plan ahead. It is not medical, investment or legal advice. For big decisions such as marriage, changing jobs or investing, weigh your actual situation and decide for yourself, and consult a professional when needed.
