Chunfen (春分) — Spring Equinox
Around March 20-22; day and night are equal, and yin-yang is in perfect balance.
Chunfen falls at celestial longitude 0°, around March 20-22. Day and night are equal length across the entire globe; in classical Chinese cosmology this represents the perfect balance of yin and yang.
Tradition: standing eggs (legendary balance), flying kites, paying respects at ancestral graves before Qingming. Climate: full bloom across much of China; ideal time for plantings of all kinds.
