Also known as: Water Trigram · ☵ · 水
Kan (☵) places one yang line between two yin lines, like flowing water surrounded by banks. Per the Shuogua: water, the middle son, the ear, the pig, the moon — anything that flows downward, fills hollows, and contains hidden depth.
In divination Kan signals risk, hidden traps, emotional or psychological depth, and situations requiring perseverance through hardship. Its lesson: water shapes itself to circumstance and yet wears down the hardest stone.
