Wu (午) — Horse Branch / Yang Fire

繁: 午(馬)简: 午(马)· Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny)

Also known as: Horse Branch · Noon Branch

Seventh Earthly Branch; yang fire; the horse sign; rules noon (11:00–13:00) and the second month of summer (夏至).

Wu is yang fire, hidden stems 丁 (yin fire) and 己 (yin earth) — the fire at its peak with earth quietly forming below. It is the horse at full noon gallop, the south, the solstice. Wu Day Masters often radiate energy, charisma, and a love of motion; they tire of confinement, perform best in motion or under audience, and are honest to the point of bluntness.

Wu san-he with 寅 and 戌 transforms to fire (寅午戌合化火), and six-unites with 未 to earth/fire (午未合). Conflicted by 子 — the most direct opposition (子午冲), and self-punished (午午自刑).
