Si (巳) — Snake Branch / Yin Fire

Sixth Earthly Branch; yin fire; the snake sign; rules late morning (09:00–11:00) and the first month of summer (立夏).
Si is yin fire, hidden stems 丙 (yang fire), 庚 (yang metal), 戊 (yang earth) — a fire that already carries metal and earth, ready to be tempered into precision. Symbolically the snake basking on a sunny stone, beautiful and watchful. Si Day Masters often have refined intelligence, eloquence, and a strategic patience that strikes only at the chosen moment.
Si san-he with 酉 and 丑 transforms to metal (巳酉丑合化金), and six-unites with 申 to water (巳申合水, also a punish/half-clash relation). Conflicted by 亥 (巳亥冲), and part of the 寅巳申 三刑.
